Day: 5.1

As I left the wilderness I could spot civilization beyond, made it to there by 12:35, found a Starbucks by 12:37.

So, back into the world, out of the giant forests of Rainier. Had a cold night in the truck, got to close to freezing I'm guessing, as it was 37F when I was getting ready to leave.  Good to get into town and find more food.  A co-workers "wife" made me cookies for my trip, thank you Tiffany, they are extremely good, and all I ate for about 24 hours. To bad I have no glasses of milk in the truck.

Camp in the daylight

Left my campsite, headed north out of the park, went out to a ridge where you get a great morning view of the mountain, lit with the morning sun.  Then headed out of the park.

Now, I found just before getting to town that the Washington State Police must be bored or in need of any tickets they can write. I was going along, at the speed limit, cop going the other way.  He does the full up go in the dirt and U-ee the car with lights on as fast as he can. I'm watching this thinking "I did nothing wrong, must be he has to go to something else".  Nope, he pulled me over.  But before he could finish even starting the pull over he found the error of his ways.  He discovered I had California Plates. He thought I was a Washington State driver with no front.  Guess they take it serious, or are desperate for ticket money. Considering I was exiting a National Park, I would think this would be a common site. Never seen or heard of a cop going to that extreme over a plate. I thought I was going to have a "super trooper moment".  He apologized, told me to have a good meow and went about his day.
