Day: 2

Made it to Astoria, OR today.  Know for being the home town of Alley Sheedy in the movie Short Circuit.   Sadly there is no circa 1986 Alley Sheedy's around now *sigh*.

Today felt like something out of "Truman Show" Paranoia,  the form where you arrive places before they got the set ready for you.  Things just weren't quiet right.  Started off with Peets Coffee website giving me directions to a Peets Coffee Shop that ended up being a Starbucks...odd.  Later I would find myself getting lunch at a Subway which decided not to have provolone cheese, unlike every Subway that has ever existed.  Then there were road signs claiming "Louis and Clark National Park"....  Problem is there is no such park. I know my national parks, its isn't one. The work "Historic" should not be left out from signs, it's important.  Nothing that matters, just, not exactly right. Anyways......

Didn't make it to Portland as planned, but that's what happens on the Pacific Coast Highway, you just keep pulling over. Very Beautiful coast, continues the trend of the Pacific Coast, it gets better as you go north.   Oregon is a lot like PA, that is, if Pennsylvania had an Ocean and woods that look straight out of every nightmare where Bigfoot attacks.

Stopped at a coupled of the famous bridges along the Coast, they really know how to make a good looking bridge here.  Will head to Portland in the morning. And then you have stuff like this, what a terrible place for a lighthouse....what were they thinking?
